Messer, Rockefeller & Fort (MRF) is a premier municipal law firm in the state of Texas with a reputation for excellence in all areas of municipal practice. MRF is a small to medium-sized law firm with 12 attorneys and eight support staff practicing exclusively in the area of municipal law, from annexations to zoning.

MRF is seeking an experienced associate to join its team in the Frisco, Texas, office as an Associate or Senior Attorney. This position provides legal services encompassing a wide range of municipal laws with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include, among other things, attending city council meetings and transactional work involving land use and developmental regulations, municipal ordinances and resolutions, economic development, contracts, open records requests, and real estate transactions. The focus of this position is transaction law, rather than litigation. The position requires sound judgment and excellent technical skills, and the successful candidate will be analytical, thorough, and detail-oriented.

The selected candidate must be currently licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Texas and have five or more years of experience practicing in the area of municipal law or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Prior employment in a law firm representing local governmental entities or in a municipality and familiarity with local government processes are desired qualifications. The candidate must have excellent organizational skills and be proficient and knowledgeable in Microsoft Software, document management, and file and calendar management. Some in-state travel may be required.
