                                           The City of Elk Grove is currently accepting applications for the following positions:

 

 

ANIMAL CARE SPECIALIST

$41,768.00 - $55,986.00 annually+ excellent benefits

The City of Elk Grove is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is driven and responsible, to join our team of talented employees at our state-of-the-art animal shelter. The Animal Care Specialist works with a team of shelter staff to care for shelter animals in a humane and compassionate manner according to best practice shelter protocols while providing courteous and quality service to the residents of Elk Grove. Incumbent will assist with temperament testing and provide behavior education and training to a wide variety of audiences and will perform related duties as assigned.

 
Candidates must possess one year of experience involving the handling and care of a large number of animals in an animal care/protection agency, humane society, veterinarian office, or law enforcement agency that included temperament testing and behavior training.  

Application deadline: June 8, 2022, 5:00 p.m.

Selected qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a virtual oral examination, tentatively scheduled for the week of June 20, 2022.

Successful candidates who pass the first round of interviews will be invited to participate in a second in-person interview. 

 

ANIMAL CARE ASSISTANT

$36,310.00 - $48,673.00 annually+ excellent benefits

The City of Elk Grove is looking for an enthusiastic individual who is driven and responsible, to join our team of talented employees at our state-of-the-art animal shelter. Animal Care Assistants are an integral part of the team who help maintain the standards of care for our shelter animals and work in the receiving, care, and disposition of animals.

The incumbent will perform duties in support of the City's Animal Shelter including the care and socialization of housed animals; maintains records regarding animal well-being; assists the public with claiming lost animals and adoptions; and performs related duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the animal care field and be familiar with animal shelter operations and tasks required to be performed on a daily basis.  Basic knowledge of animal behavior, strong customer service skills, and strong teamwork skills are a must.

POLICE EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLY TECHNICIAN

$48,041.00 - $64,393.00 annually+ excellent benefits

The City of Elk Grove is seeking a Supply Technician for the Police Department. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic, people-oriented individual who can multi-task, set priorities, and provide excellent customer service while working with all levels of employees in the City.

The due date to submit an application for consideration is on June 5, 2022.

Under general supervision, the technician will perform different clerical duties involved in procuring, receiving, issuing, and maintaining an accurate inventory of equipment, supplies, and materials for the Police Department. This includes equipment issued to officers, officer supplies and department forms.
