Golden Valley, a first ring suburb of Minneapolis just minutes from downtown seeks a strategic, inclusive, and collaborative leader for its next City Manager. With its desirable location, ample parks and nature areas, vibrant neighborhoods, and businesses, including several corporate headquarters, Golden Valley is a considered one of the best places to live and work in the Minneapolis-St. Paul MSA. Golden Valley residents are very engaged in their city government and vote at one of the highest rates in the state. The mayor and four-member city council appoint the city manager who serves as the chief administrative officer for the City and oversees all daily operations of Finance, Human Resources, Legal, Communications, Community Development, Police, Fire, Parks and Recreation and Public Works. The city has 151 regular full employees. The city has 6 collective bargaining units. The city maintains a strong financial position with an adopted general fund budget for 2024 of $30.1 million with all funds totaling $65 million. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The salary range is $173,534 - $219,190 with excellent benefits. Residency is not required.
