Ready to shape the future of one of Alabama’s fastest-growing cities? The City of Prattville — known as "The Preferred Community" — is looking for a visionary, people-focused Planning and Development Director to lead our Planning, Zoning, Building Inspection, and GIS divisions.

In this role, you will:
Lead and develop a talented department team
Guide implementation of the City’s Comprehensive Plan
Oversee zoning, subdivision, permitting, inspections, and code enforcement
Modernize development processes with a focus on customer service and innovation
 
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Studies, Public Administration, Architecture, or a related field
5+ years of progressively responsible planning/development experience, including supervisory work
AICP Certification
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field
Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) credential
Experience with grants management, historic preservation, building codes, and GIS technology

Salary Range: $98,234 – $149,474 (DOE/DOQ)
